Holiday Magic With Alpacas- A Live Zoom Panel Event
Wednesday, November 5th, 8PM Eastern

Join us for a 90 minute Masterclass with a panel of 3 experienced farm owners. The focus will be “Ideas for incorporating alpacas and their products into holiday events, pop-ups, and for gift ideas.” The moderator for this session will be Julie Roy, marketing expert.

Session Panelists are:

Laurie Findlay - Alpacas of El Dorado
Laurie Findlay and her husband Scott have been involved in the alpaca industry for over 21 years. They have been selling their alpaca products through a "Pop Up Store" since 2017. Local wineries invite them set up at their holiday markets. Recently the Findlays have collaborated with a new coffee shop showcasing and selling their beautiful alpaca items.

Nikki Griffith - Sandollar Alpacas: Nikki and Collins Griffith opened their first farm store in 2011, selling mostly yarns, roving, batts, and dryer balls made from their fiber.  Over the years the store has expanded multiple times to 2,000 sq. ft. and houses a felt loom, leather studio, and a fiber arts studio with weaving looms. The Griffiths’ sales have been boosted by their AirBnB, Harvest Hosting, and offering educational tours, all using online booking.

Beth Sheets - Heritage Farm & Events, LLC: Beth Sheets and her husband Tim have raised Suri alpacas for over 20 years. Together they’ve grown their working farm into a thriving agritourism destination featuring farm stays, weddings, and community events. Beth’s creativity shines each year through the Heritage Farm Artisan Christmas Market, which brings together local makers, music, food, and the magic of the holiday season with—you guessed it—alpacas!

Our Moderator is Julie Roy:  Julie Roy has been helping alpaca farms grow their businesses for more than 20 years. She’s a trusted author, speaker, business coach, and co-founder of alpacaEDU

We will delve into the answers to some of the following questions:
  1. What is the best way to advertise your events?
  2. How do you incorporate alpacas into events, on and off the farm?
  3. What are the challenges with Pop-ups, and what are the best practices?
  4. What advice do you have for someone just getting started?

Other topics include:
Farm insurance, inventory control, selecting the best items for Pop-ups, attracting repeat customers, and balancing time off the farm while still needing to perform on-farm activities.
