Yes; it’s that time again –
elections for The Suri Network Board of Trustees.
As Suri Network Board Liaison to the Nominating
Committee, I am pleased to inform you that Suzanne
Backer, Trudy Halley, Jim Morgan, and Susan Tellez,
have agreed to serve on the Suri Network Nominating
Committee.
The Committee shall actively recruit and nominate at
least two (2) candidates for each vacancy of the
Board. This year we have three vacancies: Dick
Walker, Toni Cotton, and Miriam Donaldson.
All nominees must be members in good standing of the
Corporation. Nominations shall be closed not later
than forty-five (45) days before the Annual Meeting.
The Suri Network Annual Meeting will be held in
conjunction with the Suri Network Summer Symposium,
August 14 thru 17, 2008, in beautiful Estes Park,
CO.
Also, three (3) or more members in good standing of
the Suri Network may nominate one (1) or more
candidates for Trustee by a petition delivered to
the Nomination Committee not less than eighty (80)
days prior to the Annual Meeting.
At least thirty (30) days before the Annual Meeting,
a ballot containing the names of the nominees shall
be mailed by the Trustees to each member of the
Corporation entitled to vote. When the ballots are
mailed to the membership; they will contain a
nominee statement of introduction and their answers
to specific questions.

Strongly Recommended Qualities
for Candidacy on the Suri Network Board of Trustees:
1. At least 5 years
experience in the Suri Alpaca Industry
2. Ability to give a minimum of 15 hours
per week
3. Ability to pay to attend
conferences/face to face meetings
4. Ability to communicate well
5. Knowledge of fiber and textile
industries
6. Knowledge of other livestock industries
and how they work
7. Experience in marketing
8. Experience in business planning
9. Experience in financial planning
10. Forward thinking and creative
11. Willingness to attend events as a
representative of the Suri Network Board as
needed
